Occupational Therapy – Tayla Rodd
We aim to work alongside patients, their families and other health care professions towards enabling patients to return to meaningful engagement in the occupations that are important to them as well as participation in their community.
We do this by using a holistic patient centred approach that includes:
- Rehabilitation of specific body structures and functions for example: movement, cognition, sensation, perception, emotions, pain, etc. This is done through using a variety of evidence/research based techniques and tools.
- Strategies and tools that compensate for residual difficulties, environmental limitation.
- Skills that empower patient’s to manage their life in the most independent and purposeful way.
- Support patients and their loved ones in developing a better understanding of the condition, recovery journey and the support tools available.
Our “occupations” include everything from being able to get up and get ready for the day, drive to work, work, and spend-time with family, exercise, sleep and everything in between.
